New fitness center opens in Beaverton with special emphasis on women's health

Burn Boot Camp, a national fitness franchise, opened a new location at 14801 S.W. Millikan Way in early March.

The Beaverton Burn Boot Camp location is owned and operated by cousins Megan Jones and Michelle Nelson.

Nelson learned about the Burn Boot Camp model in Eau Claire, Wis., where she took part in a Burn Boot Camp orientation with CEO & co-founder, Devan Kline. Jones saw Nelson's passion for Burn Boot Camp and became her business partner. The pair immediately related to Burn Boot Camp's mission and the community it cultivates. With backgrounds in family services, health and fitness, the pair said they understand the culture.

"The workout clients receive at Burn Boot Camp is effective and empowering, and we're excited for Beaverton residents to try it out first hand," Jones said. "The sense of community our clients experience is unique and palpable. Seeing people from various fitness levels come together and support each other during the camps is amazing."

Each camp features 45-minute circuit-style workouts comprised of 72 different styles and 15 formats. Burn Boot Camp has a recruiting program for trainers with every session led by an NCCA-accredited certified personal trainer who creates new programs daily so attendees never do the same workout twice. Burn Boot Camp has a five pillar philosophy to help clients achieve success: mindset, nutrition, burst training, strength training and positive environment.

"Jones and Nelson are joining the strong network of Burn Boot Camp franchise operators at an exciting growth point for the brand," Kline said.

Members are not required to register for camps in advance to reserve a spot, but select camps that fit with their schedules. All sessions before 5 p.m. are only available to women, and childcare is available free-of-charge.
