Coffee with a Cop, taking place on Wednesday, offers community members an opportunity to share thoughts with local law enforcement personnel.

BEAVERTON POLICE DEPARTMENT - Beaverton Police Department Officers from the Beaverton Police Department will come together in an informal, neutral space to discuss community concerns, build relationships, and share a cup of Joe with the community.

The Coffee with a Cop program offers the opportunity to meet local officers and discuss community concerns. All are invited from the local community to come and meet their local officers and enjoy a free cup of coffee.  The event takes place Wednesday, July 12 from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Starbucks located at 14600 S.W. Murray Blvd. in Beaverton. The program provides an opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn more about the BPD's work in Beaverton's neighborhoods.  According to BPD, the majority of contacts law enforcement have with the public happen during emergencies, or emotional situations. Those situations are not always the most effective times for relationship-building with the community and some community members may feel that officers are unapproachable on the street.
