First responders hurried to the Northwest 185th Avenue on-ramp to eastbound US-26 shortly after midnight on Tuesday, May 8, after receiving reports of a two-vehicle collision.

Police say the two men were inside a Honda Civic that crashed into the back end of a Honda CR-V. The two occupants allegedly leaped from their burning car and fled to the south into Tanasbourne on foot.

A Beaverton K9 unit deployed but was unable to locate the two men. A police spokesman says the other driver suffered "minor injuries" that did not require immediate hospitalization.

"Generally when crashes happen like that, it's because one car is going way too fast," noted Officer Bryan Dalton, adding that other possibilities include distracted or intoxicated driving.

Dalton said officers continue to investigate this incident and will alert the public if either suspect is found.
