Seismic work continues on Charles D. Cameron Public Services Building in Hillsboro, but county commissioners will resume business meetings and work sessions there on Aug. 7

Several more Washington County offices will move temporarily as seismic work progresses on their current building in Hillsboro.

The Planning and Development Services Division of the Land Use and Transportation Department will move to the Adams Crossing and Adams Annex buildings. All of the offices below will close on July 27 and 30 in preparation for the move.

Adams Crossing is at 161 N.W. Adams Ave. Adams Annex is at 221 W. Main St.

New locations and effective dates are as follows:

• Permitting: Adams Crossing, 1st floor, July 31.

• Plans Examiners: Adams Crossing, 2nd floor, July 31

• Current Planning: Adams Crossing, 2nd floor, Aug. 1

• Long-Range Planning: Adams Crossing, 3rd floor, Aug. 2

• Building Inspectors: Adams Annex, Aug. 3.

• County Surveyor: Adams Annex, Aug. 3

The mailing addresses, phone numbers and email addresses for the sections are unchanged.

The Administrative Services Division/Office of the Director of land use and transportation relocated in March to the Tongue Estate Complex, 328 W. Main St., Suite 300. The Operations and Maintenance and Engineering and Construction Services divisions remain at Walnut Street Center, 1400 S.W. Walnut St.

The Charles D. Cameron Public Services Building at 155 N. 1st Ave., Hillsboro, has been undergoing work since early 2017 to strengthen it against a severe earthquake.

The county board of commissioners has been meeting since then at the Hillsboro Civic Center, 150 E. Main St. Starting Aug. 7, however, board business meetings and work sessions will return to the Public Services Building.
