Police in Beaverton are seeking help locating a hand-carved cane, stolen Aug. 8.

PHOTO COURTESEY OF BEAVERTON POLICE - A cane hand-carved from a 1,500-yearo-old tree was stolen in Beaverton.Beaverton Police seeking the community's help in recovering a hand-carved cane stolen from a vehicle on Wednesday, Aug. 8.

The theft occurred on the 14000 block of Southwest Teal Boulevard. Among the stolen items was the cane, which had been given to the victim by her grandfather. The cane was carved from a 1,500-year-old tree located in northern Iran. It has intricate hand carving and has been passed down through the victim's family.

Anyone who has seen the cane or has information regarding this theft can call 503-629-0111 and speak to a Beaverton Police officer.
