Replica weapon used in weekend menacing
A Beaverton woman was arrested on Sunday in Raleigh Hills' Vista Brook Park and charged with menacing other people with a replica firearm.
The incident occurred around 11 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, when three friends said they were approached by an individual who pointed a handgun at them. The trio ran to a nearby house and asked the homeowner to call 911. They described the suspect and the firearm.
Washington County Sheriff's Office deputies searched the Fanno Creek Trail, which runs along the south side of the park, and located a person matching the description. Deputies located a realistic-looking Airsoft gun; a replica weapon that fires a non-lethal projectile.
The victims allegedly identified the suspect.
Deputies arrested Kadin E. Moore, 19, of Beaverton and charged her with menacing.
According to Sheriff's deputies, Moore is transgender and uses female pronouns.
Moore allegedly told deputies she was playing a prank on the group. The victims and the suspect did not know one another. She was lodged overnight at the Washington County Jail.
Anyone with information relevant to the investigation is asked to contact deputies at 503-629-0111.
