The early morning blaze on Thursday, Aug. 30, started inside a house; the cause of the fire is not yet known.

Firefighters rescued three people from a burning home in the Cedar Mill area early Thursday morning. All three sustained life-threatening injuries.

The call came in around 1 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, on the 12800 block of Northwest Lovejoy Court, near Saltzman Road in the Cedar Mill area of unincorporated Washington County. Firefighters with Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue arrived to see heavy flames and dark smoke roiling from the house. Crew began battling the fire while others searched the residence, finding three people inside. All three were transported to a local area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

TVF&R fire investigators remain on the scene Thursday morning to determine the cause of this fire. It was unknown as of early morning if the home contained working smoke alarms.

TVF&R personnel were assisted on scene by Hillsboro Fire and Rescue, Portland Fire and Rescue, the Washington County Sheriff's Office and Metro West Ambulance.
