The identity and physical condition of the victim have not been released; the shooter is at large.

The Sheriff's Office began receiving 911 calls around 6:30 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 6, regarding an assault and the sound of gunfire on the 18000 block of Southwest Shaw Street in Aloha.

The shooting victim was located but deputies were unable to locate a suspect. Deputies canvassed the area for witnesses and still don't know the relationship between the victim and the shooter. Deputies say they have no reason to believe there is any danger to the public.

The identity of the victim, a 37-year-old male, has not been released. The extent of his injuries and his current condition are unknown.

The suspect is described as an adult male, possibly in his early 20s, with shoulder length curly hair. It is believed that he was wearing a white shirt and dark pants.

Detectives with the Sheriff's Office Violent Crimes Unit are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call 503-846-2500.
