Driver arrested for DUII after crash smashes 3 cars
Washington County Sheriff's deputies have arrested an allegedly impaired driver who smashed into several parked cars and a tree.
Garden Home resident Noe Garnica, 39, faces charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving and second-degree criminal mischief.
Deputies responded to the 6900 block of Southwest Alden Street in Garden Home after receiving reports of a multiple-vehicle crash around 2:09 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 4.
Police determined that Garnica was driving an SUV when he crashed into two cars parked in a driveway. He then allegedly reversed into another parked vehicle and a tree.
Residents told officers the driver seemed impaired, and the authorities concluded that Garnica was under the influence of "a combination of alcohol and controlled substances."
Garnica posted bail and has been released from the Washington County jail. No injuries were reported, and Garnica does not have a criminal record in Oregon except for parking tickets.
"The Washington County Sheriff's Office reminds the public that driving under the influence of intoxicants is a 100% preventable crime," a police spokesperson wrote.
