Washington County Sheriff's deputies are searching for a supect in a reported bank robbery in Bethany.

Police responded to the Chase Bank, 4732 N.W. Bethany Blvd., at 11:09 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, according to a news release.

Witnesses say an unidentified man approached the counter with a note demanding money. After receiving cash, the suspect fled the scene.

"Deputies were on scene almost immediately and extensively searched the area but were not able to locate the suspect," police say.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 40s, about five-foot-eight-inches tall with a medium build and short facial hair and glasses.

He was last seen wearing light blue jeans, a black coat and beanie with black, red and white stripes.
