International evangelist Andrew Palau to speak at SW Bible
International evangelist Andrew Palau will speak at Southwest Bible Church's 19th Annual Outdoor Sunday Evenings' Series on Aug. 11 starting at 5 p.m.
His appearance is part of an eight-week series offers dinner, live music, uplifting messages and fun activities for all ages. All the events are held at the church campus located at 14605 S.W. Weir Road and are open to the public.
"We invite the community to join us for a night of great food, live music, fun activities, and a message of hope from Andrew Palau, the son of international evangelist Luis Palau," said Senior Pastor Scott Gilchrist.
"For more than 25 years, Andrew has played a key role in the ministry of the Luis Palau Association (LPA) that was founded by his father in 1960. He has been instrumental in building the LPA model for citywide outreach as an evangelist, director and key team leader.
"An evangelist in his own right, Andrew has guided campaigns, led church relations efforts, trained thousands of believers in friendship evangelism, and proclaimed the Good News of Jesus Christ in person to hundreds of thousands of individuals around the world through evangelistic campaigns," Gilcrest added.
Andrew and Luis Palau recently returned from FestiMadrid in Spain. The region-wide effort brought together more than 200 churches and trained 3,700 local Christians in outreach work. Included in the effort were outreaches for business and civic leaders, and women.
Dinners, ranging in cost from $5 to $12, can be purchased from local food carts attending the event. Food carts participating include Up 'N Smoke BBQ Hakuna Murata, Home Plate Sliders, Tall Boy Fish & Chips and Hand-scooped Ice Cream.
Several activities are planned for the evening, including cornhole and volleyball tournaments.
