Cedar Hills Hospital hires new CEO
Cedar Hills Hospital has welcomed a new chief executive officer, the facility announced last week.
C. Lamar Frizzell took the reins following the departure of former CEO Elizabeth Hutter. He previously held a similar position at Willow Creek Behavioral Health in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Cedar Hills Hospital is not a general hospital. It is an adult behavioral health, psychiatric care and substance abuse treatment facility with 98 beds for inpatient care. It also provides outpatient services.
"It was an easy decision for me and my family," Frizzell said in a statement of deciding to come to Cedar Hills Hospital. "We love the Pacific Northwest, and I am eager to take on the challenge Cedar Hills and Oregon offer me. I understand that Oregon has some of the highest rates of untreated mental health and substance use in the nation. I believe in the services Cedar Hills offers and have seen lives change because of the care provided."
Announcing Frizzell's hiring, Cedar Hills Hospital said Frizzell "will be an exceptional addition to Oregon's effort to address the mental health needs of the community."
"Lamar gains his motivation from his interactions with patients and the staff who care for them," said regional director of business development Katy Borlaug. "He is committed to supporting staff in providing high-quality care."
In addition to his experience in the field of behavioral health, Frizzell also holds a master's degree in divinity from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary, where he is also a Ph.D candidate.
Cedar Hills Hospital is located at 10300 S.W. Eastridge St.
