One from Washington County, one from Yamhill County will discuss farming on land in a single family ownership for a century or more. Designations are from the Oregon Farm Bureau Federation.

Two owners of Oregon farms within the same family for at least 100 years will speak at a special Thanksgiving program of the Washington County Public Affairs Forum.

The luncheon will start at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 25, and the program at noon, at Coyote's Bar and Grill, 5301 W. Baseline Rd., Hillsboro. The public is invited. Lunch may be ordered from the menu.

The speakers are Marie Finegan, whose family farm in Washington County became an Oregon Century Farm in 2015, and Gordon Dromgoole, whose family farm in Yamhill County became a 150th anniversary Oregon Farm in 2013.

According to the website of the Oregon Farm Bureau Federation, 1,212 Oregon farms and ranches have been certified as Century Farms since the program began in 1958, and 41 farms have passed the 150-year (sesquicentennial) mark.
