Annual celebration will feature elementary and high school choirs, cocoa and S'mores, photo opportunities with Santa and characters from 'Frozen 2,' and the annual lighting.

Beaverton's annual tree lighting will take place Friday, Dec. 6, at City Park at Southwest Hall Boulevard and 3rd Street.

The festivities will start at 5 p.m. with photo opportunities with Santa Claus and Elsa and Olaf from the movie "Frozen 2." Hot cocoa and roast-your-own S'mores will be available.

Entertainment will be performed starting at 6 p.m. by the choir at Rock Creek Elementary School and the Synergy choir at Arts and Communication Magnet School.

Mayor Denny Doyle will perform the tree-lighting ceremony starting at 7 p.m.

The City Park parking lot will be open. For pedestrian safety, Southwest 5th Street will be closed between Hall Boulevard and Watson Avenue, and traffic on Southwest Hall between 5th and 3rd streets will go down to a single lane starting at 4:30 p.m.

There will be no German Holiday Market this year.
