Young elected officials and others will discuss political involvement
Panelists at the next Washington County Public Affairs Forum will speak about how younger people are getting involved in elections.
The luncheon will start at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 20, and the program at noon, at Coyote's Bar and Grill, 5301 W. Baseline Road, Hillsboro. Lunch can be ordered from the menu.
Two panel members are elected officials: Juan Carlos Gonzalez of Cornelius, one of seven members of the Metro Council and recently named its deputy president, and Ben Bowman, member of the Tigard-Tualatin School Board and a former assistant to state Rep. Margaret Doherty, D-Tigard. Gonzalez was elected in 2018 and Bowman in 2019.
The others on the panel are Jacob Vandever, a former staffer in the House Republican Office and a 2014 candidate for the Oregon House, and someone from the Young Republicans of Oregon.
