Washington County libraries close doors to battle COVID-19
Several Washington County libraries are closing their doors temporarily to curb the spread in COVID-19 cases.
According to Washington County Cooperative Library Services, the partnership of the county's various libraries, several county libraries plan to close after dozens of Oregonians have been diagnosed with COVID-19, caused a new strain of coronavirus.
The following is a list of libraries and their closing dates:
Banks Public Library: The library will be closed from March 17 through the end of the month. The Jane Moore Community Room is also closed to all use.
Beaverton City Library: The library will be closed between March 16 and March 27.
Cornelius Public Library: The library will be closed between March 18 and April 6.
Forest Grove City Library: The library will be closed between March 16 and March 29.
Garden Home Community Library: The library will be closed starting Saturday March 14 through at least March 31. All scheduled library events and programs are cancelled through Saturday, April 4.
Hillsboro Public Library: Hillsboro public libraries will close beginning Sunday, March 15 and continuing through March 29.
North Plains Public Library: North Plains Public Library will be closed through March 29.
Sherwood Public Library: The Sherwood Public Library closed at 6pm on Friday, March 13 and will remain closed through at least March 26.
Tigard Public Library: The Tigard Public Library will be closed to the public from Saturday, March 14 through March 31.
Tualatin Public Library: The Tualatin Public Library will be closed through March 31. Curbside pick-up of items on hold is available by appointment; call 503-691-3072.
