Providence begins pilot program for drive-in COVID-19 testing
Providence Health & Services began a pilot program for drive-through COVID-19 testing Friday, completing 45 tests on caregivers and patients who had physician orders and an appointment.
There are currently two test sites — one on the eastside and the other on the westside — and they are not open to the public.
With a doctor's order, patients can make an appointment and drive to one of the sites (no walk-ins are allowed). Once the appointment is confirmed on-site, patients are directed to a testing tent where they remain in their car while a health care provider takes a swab on the inside of their nose.
Providence expects to operate the site during weekdays.
