Downtown Beaverton has a new hotel.

The five-story Hyatt House at 12820 S.W. Crescent St., near Beaverton City Hall and the Beaverton Central MAX light rail station, is officially opening Thursday, Feb. 11. The hotel includes 125 guest rooms, 13 of which are apartment-style suites.

"The opening of this Hyatt House is powerful testimony that hoteliers continue to provide the best of hotel experiences even during challenging travel times," said Mehul Patel, chairman and chief executive officer of NewcrestImage, which partnered with Canterbury Hotel Group to open the new hotel. "We've created a property that is safe, comfortable, and special — where travelers can rest easy after a tough day on the road." Arvind Patel, CEO of Canterbury Hotel Group, expressed hope that new vaccines against COVID-19 will help to usher in "a return to travel." Hotels and airlines are among the businesses who have struggled during the coronavirus pandemic.

"Our new property combines the comfort and style of home, with the convenience of a hotel, so guests can feel calm and cozy surrounded by the very best in creature comforts and in socially distanced service," Arvind Patel added.
