Fans of ABC's "The Bachelor" saw Beaverton resident and contestant Abigail Heringer say goodbye to bachelor Matt James on Monday night, Feb. 15.

After failing to secure a one-on-one date with James, Heringer was invited on a group date with other women in the house. The contestant was able to still get some face time with the bachelor, but things didn't go as planned for Heringer.

"This week has been really hard," Heringer said to James. "From the beginning, all I've wanted is just more time with you. We've only hung out for a little bit here and there, but I think we've had really good conversations. I've opened up to you about my biggest insecurities."

Heringer went on to say that she could picture being married to James and one day having a family.

When she asked if James felt the same way, the bachelor said that despite feeling an immediate spark with her on night one, he ended up creating relationships with other women that led to stronger feelings. COURTESY PHOTO: ABC/THE BACHELOR - Matt James

"My heart's pulling me in another direction," said James to Heringer. "I apologize. The last thing I want to do is lead you on, in my view. You deserve someone who is going to put you first."

Heringer kept a strong face and said she appreciated James' honesty. As she was driven away from the mansion, the Beaverton resident told cameras how she felt about their goodbye.

"For me to lay it all out and for him to say he doesn't see it, it's just eating me alive right now," she said, holding back tears. "I feel that I'm just constantly the person that makes men realize what they want next, but they never want that with me. So, it's just a hard pill that I'm going to have to swallow."

Happy Valley resident Pieper James was also eliminated from the competition on this week's show. She was the only other contestant from Oregon.

Heringer is originally from Salem, according to the Statesman Journal.

Fans can still find out if Matt James finds love on the next episode of "The Bachelor," which airs 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22, on ABC.
