A Hillsboro man was arrested Thursday night, March 4, for the murder of a man in Aloha last month, Washington County authorities said.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office announced Thursday night that after a pursuit through Beaverton that ended near the Beaverton Central MAX station, Beaverton police officers arrested Herbert Rabago, 35.
Authorities say Beaverton police spotted a vehicle associated with Rabago near the intersection of Southwest 149th Avenue and Farmington Road. When they attempted to stop the vehicle, a pursuit ensued, and Rabago was eventually apprehended on foot near the MAX station, the Sheriff's Office said.
No injuries were reported.
The Sheriff's Office said a warrant had been issued for Rabago's arrest for the murder of Jeremy Lee Covey, who was fatally shot Feb. 18 in the 17800 block of Southwest Kinnaman Road.
No information on a suspect in Covey's death had previously been released.
Rabago has been lodged in the Washington County Jail.
Court records show Rabago has a history of theft, burglary and assault convictions dating back nearly 20 years. He was most recently convicted of misdemeanor assault in 2019. In that case, he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 30 months in prison.
