Beaverton man accused of murdering roommate
A 38-year-old Beaverton man is accused of murdering his roommate during the early morning hours of Monday, Aug. 30, according to the Beaverton Police Department.
Officers were called to the Beaverton Creek Apartments at 2:53 a.m., on a report about a man with a firearm, officials said.
When they arrived, they made contact with James Dewhurst and found probable cause that he murdered his roommate, 43-year-old Rocky Harkins, according to police.
Officers found Harkins shot dead in the apartment they shared, according to police. Multiple firearms were also recovered at the scene.
Dewhurst was arrested and booked into the Washington County Jail on murder charges. The Washington County Major Crimes Team is continuing to investigate the incident.
