LETTERS: Sherwood voters weigh in on legislative races
Neron gets high marks for constituent service
I have been a tenant in Sherwood since 2013, when I first moved here for a job.
My first shocking rent increase occurred when it was time for a lease renewal in 2019. I called Rep. Courtney Neron's Constituent Desk and was helped almost immediately by her chief of staff, Mr. Pablo Valenzuela. He provided the name of an Oregon attorney who might take my case after he carefully considered the details of my situation first. The Oregon attorney he referred me to said I qualified for her services at no charge due to my age.
This was a rapid response effort by people who cared about an older woman living alone. Courtney Neron and her staff were there for me in my time of need and their help prepared me to be a wiser tenant, and I am thankful.
Now I am 72 years old, and Courtney is running for reelection. I strongly believe Courtney should be reelected. She represents me and understands that although I work, it is only part-time. I receive Social Security, but I don't need to spell it out for her because she knows what fixed income means. She is a well-informed and well-educated woman and brings more experience and resilience to the table than her opponent.
High rental expenses and the fear of losing affordable housing are my reality. However, I know I can count on Courtney Neron, and you can rely on her too. Rep. Courtney Neron has my vote, and now you know why!

Help Oregon — vote for Aaron Woods
It was a good day for Oregon the day Aaron Woods decided to run for election as our state senator in Salem, representing Tigard, King City, Sherwood, Metzger, Bull Mountain and Wilsonville.
I have closely observed Aaron engage with people both in my home and in public settings. He captures your attention and you capture his. He listens intently and clearly cares about your points. He is totally likable, thoughtful, and genuine. You look forward to seeing him again. And, he combines progressive values with a business savvy built over a long career in technology.
If we vote for Aaron Woods to be our state senator, Nov. 8 will be another good day for Oregon.
John D. Vandenberg, Sherwood
