Head to Bethany Village's Spring Market May 16 for food, music
Food, vendors, live music — Bethany Village shopping center's Spring Market on Thursday, May 19, has it all going on.
The Spring Market will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. at the center, located off Northwest Bethany Boulevard and Laidlaw Road. There will be about 20 vendors, selling everything from baked goods and hot sauce to pet supplies and flowers.
There will be various food vendors and even a booth for the Bethany Community Library, said Melissa Huynh, who coordinates events for Bethany Village.
Local jazz singer Shaymus Hanlin will be performing at the event.
The Spring Market isn't an annual event for the center. Huynh said it usually just hosts summer markets and one-off events like concerts.
The center has hosted its summer events for over 15 years, but they were paused for about two years because of the pandemic.
"Since we had to stop our events like the summer concerts — where we had lots of vendors — because of COVID, we kind of wanted to add a smaller event," Huynh said. "It's more intimate, just to come out and have the community hang out and stuff."
Bethany Village's last event was its Easter Egg Hunt on April 16.
On Tuesday, June 21, it will host a celebration for the last day of school. At that event, there will be a DJ, a game truck and a churro truck for kids to celebrate the first day of summer, Huynh said.
"We are excited to … bring back the events since COVID for the community to enjoy," she said. "And I know we have lots of activities for the kids."
