Holiday Fitness. So how do you survive the holidays and not gain weight?
The holidays can be a real killer on the waist and my moto is always this:
If you eat it be prepared for it to go to your waist, if you toss it then it goes to waste.
When you are out for dinner, at a party or just enjoying dessert it's really easy to let your eyes drive your servings size which can ultimately result in a decision to eat or toss. Either way it's going to waist/waste so…….. toss it!
Here are my top tips for avoiding weight gain & bloating during the holidays:
Portion control, spend a week NOW measuring and really get a feel for what a proper portion looks and feels like and then use that knowledge.
Breakfast & Lunch need to count for the majority of your calories and keep dinner light.
Drink Water and lots of it. 8 big glasses every day.
No bread, booze or sugar, save these items for special occasions & parties.
Count calories…100 calories = 15 minutes of walking, if you overeat then you must walk
Wear a fitness tracker that counts calories & movement.
Stay on your feet as much as possible, sitting burns 0 calories. The more you stand, the more you move.
Exercise EVERY DAY, walk, run, lift weights, clean your house, wash the car, mow the lawn, MOVE!
Relax and sleep enough, this balances the hormones and creates harmony in your body.
