One must take a well thought out approach to stay on track and achieve continuing success for life long improvement. Start with these basic principles and see how easy health and
fitness can be!
Schedule your workouts on a calendar.
Write down your workout time just like an appointment and pack your workout clothes in your car!! Pack a small workout snack and you're set!
Set obtainable goals.
Start with three days per week for a total time of 20 minutes and gradually
increase the time.
Increase frequency.
Add an extra day to the schedule when max time has been achieved.
Increase intensity.
Time to push the limits just a little harder which challenges the central nervous system to produce greater gains.
Active rest.
One doesn't need to always push the accelerator and should look for an active workout that may include just a short run, swimming, yoga or easy bike ride. Keeping the body moving and lowering the workload maintains proper body function while allowing energy for the next workout!
Rest and recover.
Time to make sure we pull up a chair, visit with friends, see relatives and have a little social time including at least 7 hours of sleep per day. Proper rest and
recovery will make that next workout seem like a walk in the park!
