December will be busy at the Canby Public Library as several events are slated during the month

Read to the Dog, in this case Digby, will be held every Friday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Canby Public Library.

The Canby Public Library has several special events slated for December. Those events are:

Holiday Open House -- Wednesday, Dec. 6, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The Canby community is invited to a special Christmas holiday event to explore the decorated library. Live music, holiday crafts, a visit from Santa and light refreshments will put everyone into the holiday spirit.

Self-defense for women -- Curious about Tae Kwon Do? Come to the library on Thursday, Dec. 7 at 6:30 p.m. to experience a Tae Kwon Do workout. This is the perfect class for mothers, daughters, sisters, and friends age 14 and up. Wear comfortable clothes and be prepared to learn some skills to defend yourself.

Read to the Dog – every Friday from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. Come read to Digby, the library's reading therapy dog. Digby is a Golden Retriever certified through Pet Partners as a therapy dog.

Reading sessions are 15 minutes long and take place in a quiet and cozy area of the library. Reservations can be made in person or by calling 503-266-3394.
