A quartet of Canby firefighters were sent to help battle the California wildfires

The Canby Fire District sent four firefighters to help with the California wildfires.

On Dec. 5, Canby Fire District was asked to participate with sending state of Oregon crews to help with the fire in California.

At 9:30 p.m., four firefighters from CFD left with a heavy brush unit for California as part of a strike team of engines from Clackamas County. Firefighters Brad Frank, Donald Gresham and Austin Holmes are on the engine and DC Todd Gary is one of the task force leaders.

This is the sixth deployment for the Canby firefighters to help support other communities. All costs associated for the deployment are reimbursed by the state and or federal government.
