The Oregon Renaissance Faire is looking for volunteers to be part of the fun; meeting set for March

The Oregon Renaissance Faire is looking for area volunteers to help with this year's two-weekend run.

The Oregon Renaissance Faire is looking for volunteers to help behind the scenes of this two-weekend event at the Clackamas County Event Center in Canby June 9-10 and 16-17.

There will be an informational meeting on Saturday, March 24, from 9:30 to 4 p.m. at the Canby Public Library.

Volunteers will work four to six hour shifts and be engaged in a variety of jobs, including:

Stage/Site setup and pack out (Build and take down the Village, fork lift drivers needed).

*Towne Gate (ticket taking, selling tickets).

*Souvenir Booth (selling souvenirs).

Parking Lot (help folks find a place to park).

Sanitation (help us keep the Vale of Dunrose clean for Her Majesty).

*#Ale Houses (Be a wench and serve an Ale)|.

Gate Control (Make sure the folks coming in have found the Towne Gate to pay their entrance fee).

First Aid (take care of our guests).

*Volunteer Actors .

* Must wear appropriate costuming

# Must take the Oregon State Liquor Board Server Certification (paid for by WRAES)

** Under 21 years old must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

"Volunteers are the basis of our organization," said Tracy Nietupski, director of the renaissance faire. "We have positions for all abilities."

Nietupski added there are some perks to volunteering, including "Admission to the faire for you and your family depending on how many hours you volunteer; on-site camping; a chance to make new friends; be part of an amazing team; community service hours for courts or high school; souvenir volunteer pins; a cast and crew party; and staff T-shirt for positions not requiring a costume."
