Two Carus Elementary School teachers will share the funds for a joint project with their classes

The Beta Gamma chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International, has awarded two $150 teacher grants to three teachers to enhance the learning in their classrooms.

The winning applicants are Katie Glover and Meleesa Yesashimawe from Carus Elementary, whose classes will work together to improve some natural areas around their school.

The other recipient is Greg Henigan, a woodworking teacher from Gardiner Middle School in Oregon City, who hoped to add a track system that would give accurate measurement and allow for repetitive cuts to the shop's miter saw.

Delta Kappa Gamma, International, is a society of women educators. The local group draws its members from the Canby, Oregon City, and Molalla School Districts. Beta Gamma also donates Care Boxes of 100+ personal care products to the Homeless Liaison in each of our school districts twice a year.

Beta Gamma meets the third Thursday of the month at 5:15 p.m. during the school year.
