This year's Kiwanis Easter egg hunt raised more than $1,200 for Doernbecher's Cancer Program

The weather was nice but chilly for the annual Easter Egg Hunt at Clark Park on the morning of Saturday, March 31. In the end, the event, sponsored by Molalla Kiwanis and WW Timber Co., LLC, raised $1,263 for the Kiwanis Doernbecher Children's Cancer Program.

With more than 8,000 eggs—some golden—and prizes available for the taking, there were plenty for each age group. Those were provided through the generosity of several local organizations including Kiwanis, Molalla High School Key Club, Country Christian High School, Renaissance Public Academy and Molalla Fire Department.

With a little direction from their parents, a nice crowd of youngsters hunted Easter eggs.

Other groups helped in different ways to make the event successful. The Molalla Buckeroo Junior Rodeo Court attended and gave away rodeo tickets, the Rotary Club provided parking in their lot, and Bi-Mart and Charlie's Team Hot Iron allowed the Doernbecher raffle car to be displayed at their businesses throughout the week (the car was also displayed at Clark Park).

Tickets for the raffle car will continue to be available for several months at Charlie's Team Hot Iron, 530 N. Molalla Ave.
