The racing legend of Andy Granatelli will be discussed during a special program at the library

The Canby Public Library has a variety of events slated for May. From disaster preparedness to music to auto racing, the library has an interesting lineup for visitors this month.

The Granatelli Legend: From a Chicago service station to the Indy 500

The name Granatelli immediately suggests STP and the Indy turbine car. This talk on

Tuesday, May 22 at 6:30 p.m. will highlight significant developments in Andy Granatelli's decades of racing, from a rocket car in the late '40s to land-speed records at Bonneville.

This program will be presented by Tom Styczynski who is a retired Lockheed senior staff engineer, consummate car enthusiast, and volunteer docent at World of Speed.

Gardening with drought-resistant plants.
