Canby's postal letter carriers and volunteers get more than 8,000 pounds of food for Canby Center

Canby letter carriers joined volunteers on Saturday, May 13, to come to the rescue of struggling families through the 25th annual Letter Carriers' Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.

As the mail trucks arrived at The Canby Center filled with food items, the letter carriers expressed how they were happy to be involved in making a difference.

In all, 8,046 pounds of food was donated by the Canby community to help ensure no one goes hungry. Every year the Canby Rotary Club helps to sort the food as it arrives at the end of the day.

This year, 23 Canby Rotarians and family members sorted the food into various food types. The Canby Center will be distributing the food out to local needy families over the coming months.
