Canby Public Library's annual Summer Reading Program has begun, but is still taking sign-ups

The Canby Public Library's Teen Summer Reading program will run June 1 to Aug. 10. Signups are ongoing at the library for the program that is for teens going into the sixth grade and up.

This year's events are:

June 13 at 6 p.m. -- Nintendo WII Night. Snacks & prizes.

June 20 at 6 p.m. Anime Night. Popcorn. Wear a costume.

June 27 at 6 p.m. -- Open Mic Night. Sign up to perform. Or come and enjoy the music. Presented by Canby Music.

July 11 at 12:30 p.m. -- Songwriting workshop with Chuck Cheesman. Registration required.

July 18 at 6 p.m. -- Ping Pong tournament. Snacks & prizes.

July 25 at 6 p.m. -- Nintendo WII Night. Snacks & prizes.

Aug. 1 at 6 p.m. -- Digeridoo Aussie Funk Jam. Learn the music of Australia. William from Digeridoo Down Under will help construct and play your own instruments. Registration required.

Aug. 8 at 6 p.m. – Summer reading finale with an ice cream social.

The Summer Reading Program through the Canby Public Library will run June 1 through Aug. 10. Signups are ongoing for the program, beginning June 1.

June 1 Sign up begins

June 22 at 11 a.m. -- Red Yarn's Old Barn - music & puppets.

June 28 at 6:30 p.m. -- Oregon ROCKS! w/Museum of Natural & Cultural History.

June 29 at 11 a.m. -- Ukulele 101 with Cinda Johnson (ages 8 - 12)

Registration required.

July 6 at 11 a.m. -- Rockin' Stories & Songs with Storytellers Northwest.

July 13 at 11 a.m. -- KnightSTREAM with Knights of Veritas.

July 20 at 11 a.m. -- Leapin' Louie - juggling and cowboy tricks.

July 25 at 6:30 p.m. -- Bilingual Songs and Fun with Nathalia.

July 27 at 11 a.m. -- Richard Ritchey, The Reptile Man.

Aug. 3 at 11 a.m. -- The Puppet Town Musicians with Penny's Puppets.

Aug. 10 Last day to turn in time logs.

* Every Wednesday June 27 to Aug. 1 will be crafternoons form 2 to 3 p.m.
