The city's annual Concerts in the Park series kicks off with the Steve Hale band on July 11

Aurora's annual Concerts in the Park program will kick off on July 11 with the Steve Hale Band.

The series, held every Wednesday at the Aurora City Park amphitheater, except for the season-ender which is held the Saturday night of Aurora Colony Days, is held rain or shine, from 7 to 9 p.m.

This year's lineup is:

Steve Hale Band: Wednesday, July 11 -- A singer/songwriter with a soul edge. Steve delivers his brand of blue-eyed-soul-Americana-pop in the tradition of Bruno Mars, Daryl Hall, Sam Cooke and Bill Withers. His love for melody is woven deeply into the chordal fabric of his songs, making his music rich, sultry glowing and delicious.

An Oregon native, Hale has been a singer, songwriter and producer in the Northwest for many years.

Kelsey Bales & Sons of the Storm: Wednesday, July 18 -- Kelsey Bales & Sons of the Storm is a dynamic group serves up a great mix of today's country, honky tonk and original music.

Norman Sylvester Band: Wednesday, July 25 -- Norman Sylvester received the 2017 George Page "Back what you Believe in" award for his dedication to the Blues and Community Service. For the last few years the band has included Norman "Boogie Cat" Sylvester and his Bass man from the beginning Rob Shoemaker, drummer Paul Shoemaker, keyboard player Jeff Otto and horn players Peter Moss & Renato Caranto. The Norman Sylvester Band often incorporates one or more female vocalists, notably the energetic & accomplished Lenanne Sylvester-Miller, Sarah Billings, a popular singer and radio personality who fronts her own band and when they can grab a date from one of Portland's most popular vocalists around, the soulful LaRhonda Steele.

Papa Smoke: Wednesday, Aug. 1 -- Featuring stellar vocals and tight harmonies "Papa Smoke" is sure to deliver a great show performing your favorite Classic Rock, Country, Southern Rock and Blues. Collectively touring the Northwest for over 35 years and performing with several major artists, "Papa Smoke" has perfected the art of musical performance and engaging an audience.

Enjoy familiar tunes from the likes of the Eagles, SRV, Fleetwood Mac, Kenny Wayne Shepard, Stevie Wonder, Chris Stapleton, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Tom Petty, Lynard Skynard, Marshall Tucker, Bonnie Raitt, Kenny Loggins, and Eric Clapton!

Big Night Out: Saturday, Aug. 11, 7 to 10 p.m. -- Big Night Out is a twelve-piece rock, pop, and funk cover band located in Portland, Oregon. In addition to performing 60's, Motown, 70's, and 80's solid-gold rock and roll, the band also runs a number of contemporary pop hit's. Classic songs like Lynyrd Skynyrd's Sweet Home Alabama, all the way to current hit's by Grammy Award winning artists like Christina Aguilera, Pink, Jennifer Lopez and Lady GaGa.

The All-Star horn section, directed by former KC & The Sunshine Band lead trumpet player, Conte Bennett, delivers a tightly focussed, dynamite punch and sizzle sound. Conte's trumpet licks are legendary; his ability to hit and sustain notes above the reach of most professionals. Jeff Beatty, outstanding vocalist and former lead singer for Metro, and for many years 5 Guy's Named Moe, anchors the front line with his soulful rhythm and blues delivery of solid gold hit's. Vocalists Kelly Manning, Jennifer Hansen, and Holly Resnick bring their expansive three-part harmonies to the forefront with their rendition of hit's by great artist's like Dancing Queen, Best Of My Love, Got To Be Real, Candyman, and many more.
