Free summer lunches for area chlidren continues at several Canby-area locations into August

Free summer meals for kids are back in Canby this year, every weekday through Aug. 17.

Canby School District offers a summer meals program through the United States Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Service. Free breakfasts and lunches are available for anyone ages 18 and under at several schools in June and July, and then at Wait Park for the month of August.

At Knight Elementary, in addition to welcoming volunteers, kids will recognize a friendly face behind the counter in James Moore, who has been serving at the summer program there for eight years.

Canby's summer lunch program continues.

Lunches include a choice of entrées plus a variety of fruits and vegetables and milk.

Each day, kids have a choice of a hot entrée like chicken nuggets, beef and cheese tacos and more or a cold sandwich.

For menus, visit canby.k12.or.us/departments/nutrition-services, click on "Free Summer Meals for Kids," scroll to the bottom and click on the school of choice.
