Eaton makes honor roll at Montana State

Canby's James Eaton has been named to the undergraduate dean's honor roll for spring semester 2018 at Montana State University.

The Dean's Honor Roll includes the 3,179 students earning grade point averages of 3.5 or above for the semester.

Hosek makes honor roll at Montana State

Molalla's Taylor Hosek has been named to the undergraduate dean's honor roll for spring semester 2018 at Montana State University.

Shrock makes Baylor honor list

Aurora's Corrie Renae Shrock has been named to the Baylor University dean's academic honor list for the 2018 spring semester. Shrock is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.

Everson tabbed for Gonzaga president's list

Canby's Andrew Everson has been named to the Gonzaga University president's list for spring semester 2018. Students must earn a 3.85 to 4.0 grade point average to be listed.

Local duo make Gonzaga dean's list

A pair of locals were named to the Gonzaga Univeersity dean's list for the spring semester 2018. To make it, Tucker Munson of Aurora, and Lydia Weisshaar of Canby, had to earn between a 3.5 and 3.84 grade point average.

Canby's Warnock makes president's list

Edward Warnock of Canby was recently named to the Kennesaw State University president's list. To be named to the president's list, students must complete at least 9 semester hours with a grade point average of 4.0.

Kennesaw State is a member of the University System of Georgia.

Lundburg earns distinction at Grove City College

Evan Lundburg, a junior at Grove City College, has been named to the dean's list with distinction for the spring 2018 semester. A 2015 graduate of New Covenant Christian Academy, he is the son of Kenneth and Patricia Lundburg.

To make the dean's list with distinction, Lundburg had to have a semester grade point average of between 3.60 and 3.84.

Yamase named to Whitworth honor roll

Canby's Tiffany Yamase was named to the Whitworth University Provost honor roll for spring semester 2018. To qualify for this academic honor society, she had to maintain a 3.75 GPA during the semester.

Bennett earns OIT degree

Erica Bennett of Canby earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nuclear med molecular imaging during Oregon Institute of Technology's commencement on June 16 in Klamath Falls.

Local students earn George Fox degrees

A host of locals recently earned degrees from George Fox University. Those students are: Aurora -- Sarah Marvin, master of arts in clinical mental health counseling; Casey Meador, master of arts in teaching; Sterling Sweningson, bachelor of science in biology.

Canby -- Brittany Adams, master of arts in teaching; Emily Davenport, bachelor of arts in music education; John Gardner, bachelor of science in engineering; Abigail MacGregor, bachelor of arts in marketing; Grant Myers, master of arts in teaching; Paige Patterson, bachelor of arts in communication arts; Jennifer Seiders, master of arts in clinical psychology; and Sydney Will, master of arts in teaching.

Area students make dean's list

A good number of students with local ties earned their way onto the George Fox Universitiy dean's list for spring 2018 semester. To make the list, students must earn a 3.5 GPA or above on 12 or more hours of graded work.

Aurora -- Veronica Melo, junior, social work; Paul Schroeder, junior, history and politics; Ruth Speer, senior, art and design; Sterling Sweningson, senior, biology; and Skyler Younger, senior, biology.

Canby -- Sarah Bizon, junior, elementary education and Spanish; Emily Davenport, senior, music education; Suzanne Kahl, senior, Christian ministries; Jess Minson, senior, elementary education; Bailey Raines, senior, nursing; Hannah Riegg, junior, nursing; and Brynn Schwary, junior, art and design.

Joshua Adams earns OIT degree

Canby's Joshua Adams was awarded his degree from Oregon Institute of Technology, Portland-Metro Campus, during commencement on June 17 in Wilsonville.

Adams' degree is a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering.

Canby's Otter tabbed Phi Kappa Phi at EOU

Canby's Jennifer Otter was recently initiated into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi at Eastern Oregon University. Only the top 10 percent of seniors and 7.5 percent of juniors are eligible for membership. It's mission is to "recognize and promote academic excellence in all fields of higher education and to engage the community of scholars in service to others."
