Clackamas College holding Veterans pre-event followed by free job fair open to all

While Clackamas Community College is hosting its annual fall job fair on Tuesday, Oct. 9 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., it plans to give the first chances to veterans. They will be allowed to network with employers for an hour prior to the opening, giving them the first priority for jobs.

"This event is an all-industry job fair where local employers will full- and part-time employment as well as internship opportunities connect with CCC students, alumni and local job seekers," said Kyle Thomas, student support and career coordinator said. It will be in the Gregory Forum, 19600 Molalla Ave in Oregon City.

Nearly 60 employers from at least 12 different industries will be participating in the fair. These include Jacobs Engineering, Clackamas Federal Credit Union, Intel, OHSU, Providence Health Services, PGE, UPS and the Gresham Police Department.

The 12 industries include: health care—CNA, nursing, dental assistants, medical assistants and more; manufacturing and production; business/business management; horticulture; banking/financial; parks recreation and leisure; printing and graphics; electronics engineering and technology; law enforcement/corrections; education; human services; and retail.
