Light Up The Night returns Dec.7; nominations sought for honor of punching tree-lighting switch

Canby's annual Light Up the Night will be on Friday, Dec. 7, from 6-8 p.m. in and around Wait Park.

The downtown holiday parade will begin at 6 p.m., with the tree lighting set for 6:30 p.m., followed by photos with Santa until 7:30 p.m.

Additionally, Canby's First Friday will be up and running that evening as well with downtown businesses open.

As always, Light the Night will feature a visit from Santa as well as music from the Oregon Trail Pitchpipers. Greg Perez will be this year's emcee.

A special guest will be on hand to officially light the tree.

Nominees sought for honor

Do you know someone "electric" who helps make Canby a better place? Maybe it's someone you work with, a family member, or a great friend? Canby Main Street wants to know: Who Lights Up Canby?

Honor the person in your life that brings that special light to Canby by nominating them to throw the switch at the Light Up The Night tree lighting on Friday, Dec, 7, at 6:30 p.m.

Light Up the Night is looking for nominations of people throughout the Canby community who bring something a little extra special to everyone in their life – not just during the holidays, but year round.

The deadline for the nominations will be Friday, Nov. 30. Judging will begin on the Canby Business Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/CanbyORBusiness/) on Monday, Dec. 13.
