A close-up look at Mount Adams through the eyes and lens of Darryl Lloyd will be at the Canby Public Library March 12 at 6:30 p.m.

For anyone who is intrigued with the Pacific Northwest's majestic peaks, "Ever Wild: A Lifetime on Mount Adams" offers a first-time close-up look at Mount Adams through the lens and adventures of author and photographer Darryl Lloyd.

Through a personal journey spanning seven decades, Lloyd cemented his place in the sweeping story of Washington state's Mount Adams.

As the foremost authority on this northern Cascades massive – a sometimes overlooked, but never forgotten – hulk of a mountain, Lloyd mixes adventure memoir with doses of human history.

For nearly 50 years, Lloyd has brought the mountain to the people through talks and slide shows attracting thousands; his writings and stunning photography have appeared extensively in print. With his brother, Lloyd has founded the nonprofit Friends of Mount Adams in 2004, promoting, protection, scientific research, and stewardship of Mount Adams.
