Quilts for Empowerment program will have a display and reception for founder in March

A display of art quilts made by Kenyan women as part of the Quilts for Empowerment program, will hang at Gwynn's Coffeehouse in Canby March 17 to 31.

The program has helped survivors of sexual assault in Kenya restore their lives through the teaching of quilting and embroidery skills. A special reception will be held March 23 from 2 to 5 p.m.

Gwynn's Coffeehouse is at 190 NW Second Ave.

There will be a special presentation from Mary Ann McCammon, QFE founder, during the reception.
