Canby Alumni Choir in action
The Canby Alumni Choir will present concerts on Friday and Saturday, April 26-27, at the Richard R. Brown Fine Arts Center, beginning at 7 p.m. both nights.
Also performing will be the Canby High School Concert Choir, directed by Brooks Gingerich, as a send-off for their participation in the OSAA 6-A State Choir Competition in Corvallis on Wednesday, May 1.
The Alumni Choir is co-directed by Brooks and Tom Gingerich and has been practicing every Tuesday evening since January to prepare seven pieces of mostly classical music. Community adults and current Concert Choir members comprise the group of 80 singers this year, with numerous alumni traveling from as far away as Eugene and Astoria to share their voices.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students grades k-12.
The general admission tickets are now available at the Cutsforth's Thriftway Customer Service desk, or at the door beginning at 6pm on the nights of the concerts. All proceeds benefit the choral music program at Canby High which serves more than 300 students each year.
