Driver and young passenger were transported to area hospitals after Monday afternoon incident

AURORA FIRE DISTRICT - The results of a falling tree limb on a car near Aurora Monday. Aurora Fire District, with help from the Oregon State Police and Canby Fire District Ambulance, responded to a report of a single vehicle that had been struck by a falling tree Monday evening.AURORA FIRE DISTRICT - The remains of the tree that fell on a car Monday.

The incident happened about 5:45 p.m. along Highway 99E just north of Aurora.

By the time first responders arrived on the scene, bystanders had assisted the driver and young passenger from the vehicle and had been heavily damaged on the front end by the tree.

Both occupants were transported by Canby Fire Ambulance to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Oregon State Police remained on the scene with the car until it could be towed from the road and both lanes opened again.
