Street dance Friday night kicks off a weekend of cars, music, food, dance and downtown fun

Canby's Big Weekend kick's off with the Big Night Out Street Dance Friday, Aug. 23 from 6 to 11 p.m.

Kurt Van Meter will headline the event with a musical performance begining at 8 p.m. The crowd will get warmed up by the music of 21 Turns Band from 6 to 8 p.m.

> The Swan Island Dahlia Festival , which runs for two consecutive weekends (Aug. 24, 25, 26, 31 & Sept 1-2 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.).

> This year is the 25th Anniversary of Cutsforth's Cruise-in By the Park on Saturday, Aug. 24, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Wait Park.

Upwards of 600 classic car will fill the streets around the park, as well as a host of vendors and other attractions.

> Flower Farmer's Basil & Art Festival also begins on Saturday and continues (Aug. 24, 25, 26, 31 & Sept. 1-2 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.).

> The Canby Farmer's Market will be at NW 2nd Ave & Holly St. in Downtown Canby from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
