Representative Drazan appointed to interim committees
Representative Christine Drazan, R-Canby, has been appointed to the Joint Interim Committee on Ways and Means, the Ways and Means Subcommittee on Education, the House Committees on Healthcare and Economic Development, as well as the Emergency Board.
"These committee assignments will give me the opportunity to help maintain a sustainable budget, improve access to healthcare, support workforce development and bolster family wage jobs statewide," Drazan said.
The Emergency Board and Joint Committee on Ways and Means work in tandem to maintain a balanced budget throughout the interim, which is mandated by Oregon's Constitution.
"This historically strong economy provides an important opportunity to fund critical programs, while still setting aside reserves for a rainy day," Drazan said.
Interim committees meet quarterly during Legislative Days. The next round of Legislative Days will be held Sept. 16-18.
