When Baker Prairie Middle School students returned to school this month, they arrived to an improved campus yard.

That's because a slew of volunteers from Christ the King Community Church had shown up in August to work the grounds.

"Baker Prairie Middle School would like to thank the members of Christ the King Church for helping 'beautify' our school grounds just in time for the first day of school," said Baker Prairie Principal Jennifer Turner. "We greatly appreciate your work and commitment to our students.

"We would also like to thank Canby Disposal for the donation of the yard waste bins that were used in the clean-up efforts," she said. "We value these partnerships."

Baker Prairie is Canby's newest school facility, located at 1859 S. Township Rd. Christ the King Community Church meets there on Sundays at 10:30 a.m.
