The Herald cast talks downtown revitalization, high school volleyball and Canby's Christine Drazan being named Republican caucus leader.

Revitalization of Canby's downtown area, and what that might mean, was the topic that kicked off the latest episode of the Canby Vibe podcast.

Canby Herald editor John Baker, assistant editor Kristen Wohlers, and sports editor Derek Wiley got the rundown of a Wednesday night meeting that focused on the topic of downtown revitalization. Reporter Carol Rosen hit some of the high points of the meeting and the rest of the staff offered their thoughts on some of the items that the consultant brought up. Touches like more color downtown and windows that allow people to get a better look at local businesses were just a few of the topics touched on during the podcast.

Then the staff discussed the development of Canby woman Christine Drazan being named leader of the Oregon House Republican caucus, as well as the curious habit politicians have of claiming to look through an unbiased lens when their political allegiance almost always demands a strict bias. Drazan's appointment was a bit of a shocker, but one that could signal some changes in how Republicans conduct business in the House.
