Canby-area residents can learn about septic tank care and prevention during a special workshop on Oct. 3

Canby residents can take part in septic workshop in Canby on Thursday, Oct. 3 at the Canby Utility. The workshops will teach residents how to check, fix and maintain their septic systems.

The free workshops will cover how septic systems work, operation and maintenance and signs of failure, codes and permits.

It also will explain how to receive rebates and cost share and free well water nitrate screening.

Canby Utility also has a website that explains applying for a rebate.

It lists the steps to take including receiving pre-approval of the project before beginning work. Go to and click on efficiency and rebates for more information.

Attendance requires registration because the class sizes are limited.
