Canby's annual Christmas-time kickoff event is starting to organize and sign-ups are beginning now

Canby's 18th annual Light Up The Night will be held Friday, Dec. 6, in downtown Canby, kicking off with the annual parade.

Parade participants can include citizens, businesses, community organizations, families, neighborhood associations, or anything else that the Citizens of Canby can dream up. In the past, a great mix of children of all ages have participated in this time-honored parade.

The lighted parade lines up at the Post Office (615 NW 2nd Ave) at 5:30 p.m. and heads to downtown Canby at 6 p.m.

The parade works its way down First Avenue, turning left at Holly Street and again at Second Avenue. From Second Avenue, participants will turn right on Fir Street, and again at Third Avenue towards Wait Park.

The parade ends at Wait Park with Santa exiting the fire truck and joining the carolers on stage.

Those interested in participating in the parade should pre-register, there is no fee to participate in the parade.
