The community event at the Vietnam Veterans Era Memorial will have plenty to see and do in its second year

Something unique and special is going to happen over Canby on Nov. 11.

"For the first time in Canby's history, our Veterans Day Celebration will feature F-15 fighter jets flying over," said Greg Perez, event organizer. "After months of planning and letter writing, our town will make its own kind of history with this spectacular flyover."

Canby's Veterans Day celebration will be held at the Vietnam Era Veterans Memorial adjacent to Burgerville on Highway 99E at 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 11. The event is open to all and The American Legion will provide free coffee, hot chocolate, and donuts prior to the event.

Immediately following the ceremony, hamburgers and hotdogs will be cooked at the same location by The American Legion and is free to all. There will be covered seating provided for the more senior guests and the event is handicap accessible.
