The Herald staff sits down in this edition of the Canby Vibe to talk about holiday giving and Canby School District

This week's Canby Vibe podcast took a look at the holiday season and some of the programs and events that will be happening, or are happening, in Canby this year. Editor John Baker did a brief rundown of what's going on and the Canby Herald staff discussed the many ways of helping that Canby residents can get involved in this holiday season.

CAROL ROSEN - The Canby Kiwanis Food and Toy Drive is only one of many things going on in and around Canby this holiday season.

Also on tap was a look at a potential bond measure for the Canby School District, as well as some takes on the current state of contract negotiations between Canby's teachers and the district. The Herald staffers offered some thoughts on the good, bad and potentially ugly ramifications of many sides of both issues, including a citizen survey that seemed to indicate repurposing Ackerman into a sports complex isn't a high priority for voters. More on this is certain to come.

The Herald staff then talked about the proposed arch the city is exploring. The arch would be on Grant Street just off Highway 99E and act as a gateway to Canby's downtown area – complete with lighting and signage.
